Tips for making your own liquid soap far from basic

Once you’ve made your soap, you may want to tweak a few things, just for the sake of uniqueness or branding. Believe it, there are many ways you can customize your soap to appeal to your specifications. Here are some ways to customize your soap base:

  • By adding a little distilled water or salt, you can modify the viscosity of your liquid soap foundation. Distilled water will thin your soap, whereas salt will thicken it. Simply add 14g (0.5oz) salt in 42g (1.5 oz) warm distilled water. For this task, regular table salt will suffice. Add the salt solution a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached. Too much salt can cause the soap to lose thickness again, so add a bit at a time and wait for the soap to adapt before adding more.
  • You could also try different fragrances and oils. Different aroma oils, like essential oils, can drastically alter the thickness of the soap, thus you may need to add a little salt solution, distilled water, or xanthan gum to thicken or thin it down.

In case you wish to start a business, it is important to properly brand your products. One way you can create an identity for your soap is the packaging. Packaging helps to distinguish your item from others. It could also make storage and transport much easier. Proper packaging can help your product look presentable even though it’s just new in the market. Liquid soap can be packaged in many ways depending on affordability or in demand. Bottles of varying sizes can be gotten at affordable prices.
